Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Pet Supplies Where (https://petsupplieswhere.com) is a small pet care website run by me, Rick Sr. (Rick Mileski Sr.). This page explains, in plain English, what information this site collects, why, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, please reach out through the Contact page.

The short version

  • You can read everything on this site without giving me any personal information.
  • I only receive personal information if you send me a message or leave a comment.
  • I don’t sell your personal information.
  • At the time of this update, this site does not use analytics or advertising trackers such as Google Analytics or a Facebook Pixel.
  • Some links are affiliate links (Amazon and Awin). If you click one, that company may set its own cookies to credit the referral.

Information you choose to give me

Contact form. When you use the form on the Contact page, I receive your name, your email address, the subject, and your message. I use this only to read and answer your message.

Comments. If you leave a comment on an article, the comment form collects your name, email address, and (optionally) your website, along with your comment. Your email address is never shown publicly. Your name, website (if you add one), and comment are shown publicly with your comment.

When a comment or contact message is submitted, the site also records technical details such as your IP address and browser type. These are used to help detect spam (see “Spam protection” below).

Spam protection (Akismet)

Comments and contact form messages may be checked by Akismet, a spam-filtering service from Automattic. To do this, the information you submit (along with technical details like your IP address and browser type) may be sent to Akismet. You can read Automattic’s privacy policy at https://automattic.com/privacy/.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser.

  • Comment cookies: When you leave a comment, you can tick a box to have your name, email, and website remembered for next time. If you do, those details are saved in cookies in your browser for up to one year. If you don’t tick the box, these cookies aren’t set.
  • Site administration cookies: These are only set for people who log in to manage the website, not for regular visitors.
  • Analytics: As of the date above, I don’t use analytics or advertising cookies on this site. If that ever changes, I’ll update this page first.
  • Affiliate cookies: See the next section.

You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. The site will still work for reading articles.

Affiliate links (Amazon Associates and Awin)

Pet Supplies Where is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program that lets sites earn fees by linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Some articles also include affiliate links managed by Awin, an affiliate network (for example, a link to Bedsure’s website).

When you click an affiliate link, you leave this site, and Amazon, Awin, or the retailer may place cookies in your browser so the purchase can be credited to this site. Those companies handle that information under their own privacy policies:

I don’t receive your name, address, or payment details from these programs. They give me summary reports of sales and commissions. Buying through my links never costs you anything extra.

Fonts

To display its text styles, this site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which can see your IP address and basic browser information. Google’s privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Share buttons and links to other websites

The share buttons on articles (Facebook, X/Twitter, Reddit, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and others) are simple links. Nothing is sent to those services unless you click a button, which then opens their site.

Articles also link to other websites, such as veterinary and government resources, retailers, and our Facebook group. Once you leave Pet Supplies Where, that website’s own privacy policy applies, and I’m not responsible for how it handles your information.

Embedded content

Right now, this site doesn’t embed videos or posts from other websites. If an article includes embedded content in the future (for example, a YouTube video), that content behaves the same as if you had visited the other website directly, and that site may collect information about you and use its own cookies.

How long information is kept

  • Contact messages: Messages from the contact form are delivered to me by email. I keep them only as long as I need to answer you and keep a reasonable record of our conversation.
  • Comments: Comments and the information submitted with them are kept as long as the comment stays on the site, unless you ask me to remove them. Keeping this information lets follow-up comments from the same person be recognized instead of held for review.
  • Server logs: Like most websites, the hosting server may automatically keep routine technical logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) for security and maintenance. These are kept for a limited time set by the hosting provider.

Who I share information with

I don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Information is only shared with the services described above, as needed for the site to work (Akismet for spam checks, for example), or if I’m required to by law.

Your choices and rights

You can ask me to:

  • tell you what personal information I have about you (for example, comments you’ve left or messages you’ve sent),
  • correct it, or
  • delete it.

To make a request, use the Contact page and let me know what you’d like. I may need to confirm the request came from the email address involved. I’ll do my best to respond promptly. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under local law, and I’ll honor any reasonable request.

Children’s privacy

Pet Supplies Where is written for adults and isn’t directed to children under 13. I don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you’re a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent me personal information through a comment or the contact form, please contact me and I’ll delete it.

Security

The site uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and I take reasonable steps to protect the information I receive. No website or email system can be guaranteed 100% secure, though, so please don’t send sensitive information (like payment details) through the contact form or comments.

Changes to this policy

If the site changes in a way that affects your privacy, such as adding analytics or a newsletter, I’ll update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top.
